Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Tulale
How does Tulale work?
Tulale is a BnB and short-stay lookup platform first: search BnBs, guest houses, villas and cottages, compare rates, and book directly with the host. The legacy house-hunting side is still here too — houses and apartments to rent, and land, plots and property for sale.
Can I pay per day, week or month?
Yes. Every BnB can publish a rate per day, per week and per month — one, two or all three. The listing page shows each rate side by side so you can compare a short stay against a longer one, and the search page lets you filter by nightly rate and guest capacity.
Is the nightly rate the only price I pay?
The rate you see is the host's own price for the period shown (per day, per week or per month). Confirm extras such as cleaning, deposits or minimum-stay rules with the host directly before you pay.
Is Tulale free to use?
Yes! Searching for BnBs and properties and contacting hosts, landlords and agents is completely free. Hosts, landlords and agents can list properties with a free trial.
How do I verify my account?
After registration, we send a verification link to your email. Click the link to verify your account and start using all features.
What is 2FA and why should I enable it?
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you'll need a code from your email to login.
How does the AI scam detection work?
Our AI scans messages, reviews, and property descriptions for suspicious patterns like viewing fees, fake listings, and impersonation attempts.
Can I contact hosts and landlords directly?
Yes! You can message hosts, landlords and agents through our in-app chat or use the WhatsApp button to contact them directly.
What is a DSQ?
DSQ stands for Domestic Staff Quarter - a separate servant quarter often included with larger properties in Kenya.
How do I report a scam?
Use the "Report" button on any property or user profile. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
